Rise works with other agencies and organisations to help individuals and families live together safely and without fear. We are part of a national group of ‘stopping violence’ organisations that includes the Women’s Refuge, Family Works, the Police, and the Judicial system.
We provide programmes to help men, women and young people stop using violence in their relationships. Our aim is to deliver quality Stopping Violence and social work services to families; to help reduce the incidence of family violence.
Like a number of other organisations we are working towards a safe, non-violent community.
Rise is an approved provider of Stopping Violence Programmes with:
- the Ministry of Justice,
- the Department of Corrections, and
- Child, Youth and Family Services and Family Centred Services (under the Ministry of Social Development).
We are a secular Charitable Trust, and we recognise the Treaty of Waitangi as part of our principles, accountability and responsibility to all New Zealand people.
